Call for Proposals: 2026 AARC Conference The Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling is seeking proposals for the 2026 AARC Conference which will be held September 18–19, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. The conference will take place at the Dallas/Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center, located at 7121 Bishop Road, Plano, Texas 75024. Proposals are due February 28, 2026 at 11:59 pm, CST.   The Conference Committee for AARC invites members, colleagues, students, and other assessment and research specialists to submit proposals. Information Required for Proposals Presenter Information  First/last name, email address, highest degree earned, employer/affiliation, current title/position, professional credentials, brief biography. A curriculum vita (CV) and ACA member number are required for the first/lead presenter.  Session Title (100 characters maximum, including space)  Session Format Preferences  Many conference presentation topics are well-suited to delivery in multiple formats. To assist in creating the best conference experience, you will be asked to identify all formats that would effectively support your proposed session and to rank order selected formats in terms of relevance to your proposed session. AARC offers three distinct presentation formats:  Education Session (50 minutes):  Traditional presentations featuring structured content delivery with  time for Q&A.  Roundtable Session (50 minutes):  Interactive discussion centered on a specific topic, encouraging  participant dialogue and engagement.  Poster Presentation (50 minutes):  Visual displays of research, programs, or concepts, with  opportunities for one-on-one or small group interactions.   Conference Program Abstract (500 characters maximum, including spaces)  Provide a concise abstract of your proposed session. This abstract will appear in the conference program if your proposal is accepted, so it should clearly describe the focus and objectives of your session. Aim to highlight what attendees will gain from participating in your session.  Session Learning Objectives  Provide three learning objectives for your session. Learning objectives should clearly state what attendees will know or be able to do as a result of participating in your session. Use action-oriented language and ensure objectives are specific and measurable. Need help framing your learning objectives? Check out this chart of Bloom's Taxonomy Verbs from Fractus Learning, available for use under a CC BY-SA 4.0.  Session Synopsis (1,500 characters maximum, including spaces)  The synopsis should include an overview of the rationale for your session based in relevant, scholarly literature; a description of the session content, including key topics to be covered; and an explanation of how you plan to engage attendees (e.g., didactic lecture, interactive discussion, hands-on activities).  Proposal References  Terms and Conditions  By submitting a proposal, you agree that:  All information provided in this proposal is accurate to the best of your knowledge. • You have the consent of all co-presenters to submit the proposal on their behalf (if applicable).  All co-presenters agree with the information you have provided in this proposal (if applicable).  Individuals' names may only appear on two presentation proposals, either as first/lead presenter or as a co-presenter. If an individual appears on more than two proposals, all of the individuals’ proposals will be disqualified from review and consideration for the 2026 AARC Conference.  Lead/first presenters must be active AARC members.  All presenters must register for the conference by August 1st, 2026, to appear in the conference schedule.  All presenters will be available to present Friday and Saturday, September 18-19, 2026, from 8:00am to 5:00pm CST.  For education sessions, AARC will provide one projector/screen in each breakout room. Presenters are responsible for any other A/V needs.
